EV charging load management and project delivery across Australia
EV charging load management

More chargers on the power you already have

Chargebay designs and delivers EV charging for apartment buildings, workplaces and fleet depots. Our load management lets you add chargers without waiting on a costly grid upgrade, and our engineers take the project from site audit to commissioning.

  • Avoid or defer grid connection upgrades
  • Vendor agnostic hardware and software
  • Use your own electrician, or ours

What we do

Two things, done properly

Installing one home charger is simple. Twenty chargers on a shared supply is an engineering project. That is the work we focus on.

01

Load management

Most sites have more spare capacity than they think, just not all the time. Our controller watches the site meter and shares what is left between the chargers, so the building never trips and every car still charges.

  • Dynamic and static load control
  • Solar-aware and time-of-use scheduling
  • Fair-share billing for apartment buildings
  • Remote monitoring and charger management

02

Complex project delivery

Multi-charger sites touch the switchboard, the network connection, the car park and often a body corporate. We handle the engineering and run the job from audit to commissioning.

  • Site power audit and feasibility study
  • Electrical design and grid connection
  • Supply, installation and commissioning
  • Support and spare parts, including Circontrol chargers
How we deliver projects
Load management

Avoid the upgrade before you pay for it

A bigger grid connection can cost more than the chargers and take months to approve. Load management lets you share the supply you already have, and add capacity later only if the data says you need it.

Reads the meter in near real time

Charger limits update about every three seconds based on the measured site load.

Protects your site limit

The building is served first. Chargers share only the capacity that is left over.

Works with solar and tariffs

Shift charging to match rooftop generation or the cheapest tariff window.

Priority rules

Give fleet vehicles, specific bays or residents priority when capacity is tight.

Keeps working offline

Control runs locally on site, so limits hold even if the internet connection drops.

One dashboard for every charger

Status, energy use and faults for each charge point, with remote resets and limit changes.

Project delivery

From site audit to switched on

One team accountable for the technical outcome, whether we install or your own electrical contractor does.

  1. Site audit

We review your supply, switchboard and metering data to find the real spare capacity.

  2. Feasibility and design

Charger layout, cable routes, load management settings and a clear cost to build.

  3. Approvals

Network applications, body corporate papers and building code requirements where they apply.

  4. Supply and install

Your electrician or ours. We supply the hardware and the technical input.

  5. Commission and support

Testing, handover and load management set-up, then ongoing support and spare parts.

Who we work with

Sites where the supply is shared

Apartment buildings

Shared infrastructure sized for today and ready for every resident, with fair-share billing so each owner pays for their own use.

Workplaces and commercial

Staff and visitor charging that fits inside your existing supply and keeps demand charges in check.

Fleet and depots

Overnight charging for vans, utes and buses, planned around shift patterns and vehicle priority.

Destination and public

AC and DC charging for hotels, retail and venues, sized to what the site can supply.

Engineering first

Built on high voltage engineering

Chargebay started as an offshoot of Teck Global, a high voltage engineering and switchroom fabrication business serving the utility, mining, and oil and gas sectors. That background shapes how we approach every charging site: start with the power system, then choose the chargers.

Capability
Power system design, automation and control, grid connections, network augmentation, installation and commissioning.
Hardware
European and global charger and load management partners, supported locally.
Installer
Keep your own electrical contractor. We provide the design and technical input they need.
Offices
Brighton, Victoria and Malaga, Western Australia.

Planning a multi-charger site?

Send us your site details and a recent electricity bill. An engineer will come back with an honest view of what your current supply can carry and what it will take to get there.
